Stainless Elbow Pipe 45 Degree Fittings Steel High Quality

Industrial Stainless Steel 304 316 Elbow

Industrial-grade stainless steel elbows are precision-engineered pipe fittings designed to reliably alter flow direction in high-pressure, high-temperature, and corrosive piping systems. Unlike commercial-grade fittings, they are manufactured under stringent quality standards (e.g., ASME B16.9) with full traceability, ensuring consistent performance in the most demanding industrial environments. Constructed from ASTM-certified materials such as 304/304L and 316/316L, they deliver unmatched structural integrity and service life.

Export: Heavy-duty export wooden cases, ISPM 15 compliant.

Note: This datasheet provides general specifications. Specific requirements should be confirmed per order. Custom specifications and finishes are available upon request.

By Manufacturing Process

This is the primary classification, defining the fitting's strength, application, and cost.

Seamless Elbows

Description: Formed from a single piece of solid stainless steel billet through processes like hot extrusion or cold drawing. There is no weld seam on the fitting body.

Advantages: Superior structural integrity, higher pressure ratings, excellent uniformity in wall thickness, and enhanced resistance to corrosion and erosion. The preferred choice for high-pressure, critical, and corrosive services.

Standards: ASTM A403 WP S (Seamless) series.

Applications: Oil & Gas, High-Pressure Steam Lines, Critical Process Piping.

Welded Elbows

Description: Formed from a steel plate or sheet that is rolled and welded along the seam (longitudinal weld).

Advantages: More cost-effective for larger diameters (especially above 24"). Suitable for moderate pressure applications.

Standards: ASTM A403 WP W (Welded) series.

Applications: Low to medium pressure water lines, architectural applications, non-critical process systems.

By Angle of Direction Change

Defines the degree by which the flow direction is altered.

90-Degree Elbows: The most common type, used for a perpendicular change in direction.

45-Degree Elbows: Used for a more gradual change in direction, reducing pressure drop and turbulence.

180-Degree Elbows (Return Bends): Used to completely reverse the flow direction. Common in heat exchangers, coil systems, and tank farms.

Custom Angles: (e.g., 30°, 60°, 90°) manufactured for specific non-standard system layouts.

By Center to Center Radius

Defines the sharpness of the bend, significantly impacting flow characteristics and stress.

Short Radius (SR) Elbows

Description: The center-to-face distance is equal to the nominal pipe size (NPS) (e.g., a 4" SR elbow has a ~4" radius).

Applications: Where space is limited. Creates a higher pressure drop and turbulence due to the sharper bend.

Long Radius (LR) Elbows

Description: The center-to-face distance is 1.5 times the nominal pipe size (NPS) (e.g., a 4" LR elbow has a ~6" radius).

Applications: The industry standard. Provides smoother flow, lower pressure drop, reduced erosion, and less stress on the pipe wall. Used for most processes and transfer lines.

3D/5D Elbows

Description: A subset of long-radius elbows with a centerline radius 3 or 5 times the pipe diameter. Common in slurry systems, pneumatic conveying, and applications where minimizing erosion and clogging is paramount.

By Connection End Type

Defines how the elbow interfaces with the piping system.

Butt-Weld (BW) Ends: The most common and robust industrial connection. The fitting is beveled to match the pipe and is joined by a full-penetration weld, creating a permanent, leak-proof, and high-strength system.

Socket-Weld (SW) Ends: The pipe is inserted into a recessed socket of the fitting and then fillet-welded around the top. Suitable for smaller sizes (NPS 2" and below) and high-pressure services, but not recommended for highly corrosive or erosive services.

Threaded (NPT) Ends: The fitting has female (FPT) or male (MPT) tapered threads. Allows for disassembly but is susceptible to leaks under vibration and temperature cycling. Requires sealant. Common in utility services.

Flanged Ends: The elbow is integrated with a flange for bolted connection. Used for connecting to equipment, valves, or sections that require frequent disassembly.

By Material Grade

Defines the chemical composition and corrosion resistance.

Austenitic Grades:

304/304L: The most versatile and widely used grade. Excellent corrosion resistance for most general applications. 304L has lower carbon content for improved weldability and resistance to sensitization.

316/316L: Superior corrosion resistance due to the addition of Molybdenum (Mo), providing enhanced resistance to chlorides and acids. The "Marine Grade" standard for chemical processing, coastal, and saltwater applications.

Duplex & Super Duplex Grades:

S31803/S32205 (Duplex 2205): Offers higher strength and superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and pitting/crevice corrosion compared to 316L. Used in offshore, oil & gas, and highly corrosive chemical environments.

S32750 (Super Duplex): Even higher strength and corrosion resistance, suitable for the most aggressive environments.

Special Alloys: Includes grades like 317L, 904L, and 254 SMO for extreme corrosive conditions (e.g., sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid).

By Surface Finish

Critical for hygienic and cosmetic applications.

Mill Finish: The standard finish as-produced from manufacturing.

Pickled & Passivated: Chemical treatment to remove scale and enhance the natural chromium oxide layer, maximizing corrosion resistance.

Electropolished (EP): An electrochemical process that removes surface material, creating an ultra-smooth, microscopically clean, and highly corrosion-resistant surface. Mandatory for Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical (FDA), and High-Purity Food & Beverage applications.
